1. Data controller and data we collect
The data controller is Alexandros Gkouvelis, based in Palaio Faliro, Athens 175 64, Greece. For privacy matters and to exercise your rights, contact info@videotrig.com. We collect name, email, account details, subscription status, video metadata, note content and categories, including favorite selections, and technical logs needed to operate and secure the service. When you use the Contact form, we store the name, email, subject, message, and support-request status so that we can respond to and resolve the request.
2. Legal bases for processing
We process your data to perform the contract and provide the service, to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in security, fraud prevention, and service improvement, and, where required, with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before its withdrawal.
3. Providers and transfers
We use Top.Host as our hosting provider, Stripe for payments, and Google/YouTube for video connection and management. These providers process data only as required to provide their respective services. Stripe and Google/YouTube may process data outside the European Economic Area in accordance with their own policies and the appropriate safeguards required by law.
4. Google, YouTube and Stripe
When you connect YouTube, we receive authorization tokens and channel details to upload and manage your own videos. Tokens are stored encrypted, and you can disconnect YouTube from settings. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers and retain only identifiers and subscription status required to provide the service.
5. Sharing and Time Capsules
Share links allow viewing according to creator settings. For video and note Time Capsules, we store the link, opening time, and, where selected, a password hash. Passwords cannot be recovered in plain text.
6. Live and content reports
To operate Live, we store whether a video is published, its publication date, and unique views from signed-in users. When you submit a report, we store your account, the video, the reason, any additional information, and administrator-review details. We use this data for security, abuse prevention, and community moderation.
7. Friend invitations
When you send an invitation, we store the recipient’s email address, unique invitation link, the account that sent it, whether it was used, and reward status. We use this data to send the invitation, prevent duplicate rewards, and apply the subscription extension.
8. Retention and rights
We retain data while your account is active or as required by law. Your notes remain private to your account and available regardless of your video subscription status. From Privacy and data settings, you can download a copy of your data or delete your account and local videotrig data. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability where applicable. Deletion does not remove videos from your personal YouTube channel. You may exercise your rights at info@videotrig.com and lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.
9. Children
The service is intended for users of all ages. If you are under 15, use of the service and provision of personal data must take place with the consent or under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies for secure sessions, CSRF protection, language preference, and storing your cookie choice. We do not load non-essential third-party cookies by default. Stripe and Google/YouTube may use their own cookies only when you choose to start a payment or connect YouTube.
